Cabinet Refacing DIY: A Three-Step Guide
Cabinet refacing is a simple, cost-effective way to revamp your kitchen's appearance. Here’s how to get started on this DIY project:
- 1) Take a minimum of 5 to 7 photos of your existing cabinets, which will help us understand the layout or distribution of the cabinets. Next, measure the width and height of each door and drawer front in inches and fractions (e.g., Door #1: 14 7/8" wide x 23" high).
- 2) Choose at least two colors for your cabinets’ new look.
- 3) Contact us via email or call us at 210-920-1271 with your questions. Better yet, schedule an appointment at our showroom for a consultation. This will kick-start your project by providing you with an estimated cost, showing you different color options, and discussing the time required for the process.
FAQ: What is cabinet refacing? First, assess whether the cabinet boxes are not broken or damaged, and check for any signs of moisture damage, which can be repaired if detected. If the boxes are in acceptable condition, the technician or responsible individual will:
Clean to remove dirt, degrease, or eliminate any material that may interfere with adhesive application.
Reface by covering all the front and sides of the box with melamine or veneer.
Match the new doors to the style and color of your refacing materials, which we manufacture.
Once installed, your cabinets will look brand new, styled to your taste, all while saving you hundreds or even thousands of dollars. Questions?
